| Winemaker's Notes: |
The 2006 Claret is delicious and lively with fruit, spice and earthy flavors coming together into a very complex, savory wine. The aroma starts off with black cherry, tobacco, cedar, chocolate; in the mouth blackberry, black currant, dried herbs, grilled steak, vanilla, and cocoa. Medium-plus body with lots of changing flavors and aromas. It finishes with delicious silky tannins and tons of flavor. A very successful vintage. |
| Review: |
Bordeaux-style wine from the Napa Valley. Supple and lush with loads of ripe fruit and undertones of leather and tobacco, it's half-French, half- California in style., the 2004 Claret is a splendid wine for the price.
Break out this bottle for a grilled steak or chop, a coq au vin or red wine-braised stew.
